Contest

The contest in mathematics, physics and informatics, organized by the Advanced studies institute every year in May for the last 15 years has already become a tradition among the best known national ones. The exams in all three areas are given in English and in French and they cover the material taught from 9th to 12th class in Bulgarian school. Every year over 100 children representing schools from the whole country take part in these contests.

According to the rules, every year the two laureates in each contest are awarded  a 10 day visit in France. Thus Bulgarian talents have the chance to get acquainted with the French higher educational system (both university and college levels) and with the most renowned schools in Paris. Those who want to continue their education in France enter Lyceum Louis le Grand (LLG) to prepare for the difficult exams of the so called Grandes Ecoles - Ecole Normale Superieure (ENS) and Ecole Polytechnique (X) – established by Napoleon to educate the elite of the French nation.
